Our website went down at around 8.11pm this evening. Please accept our apologies if you have failed to get through.

The technical team at our service providers will be working through the night to fix the issues. It is hoped that our site will be back up by tomorrow morning.

I will post further updates as soon as I know.

Ketan at ARC.

I was wondering what was happening and thought my Safari blocking settings were acting up when "servedbyabutler" URL kept appearing.

Thanks for the notification.

Current status is that the technical guys are still working on the problem.

Now they are hoping that our site will be up latest by tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed.

Our telephone lines are working as normal for anyone wishing to place an order by phone.

This will be the time when those catalogues pay for themselves.

Just shows how reliant we are on the internet theses days. How long would it take for shops to appear if the WWW went down for good.

It might be an age thing, but I can navigate my way through a catalogue to find what I'm looking for far faster than a web site.

I suspect a very long time, as it is difficult to imagine the web going down permanently unless the physical structure of the internet was destroyed, in which case the collapse of the financial system and complete stoppage of communication and international trade would probably reduce us to a barter economy. Assuming of course that we weren't wiped out by whatever disaster ("dinosaur killer" meteorite, global nuclear war, pandemic?) caused the failure in the first place.

Sorry, I'm operating in "little ray of sunshine" mode this afternoon.

No, it's a website thing. Catalogues don't have pop-ups, roll-overs, dropdowns and zero dead space for the mouse pointer so that the website owners can force in front of your eyeballs things that you never wanted to look at in the first place.

Looks like ARC's website is still down. Any news on progress Ketan?

Thanks

Terry

Hi Terry and All,

Keeping my fingers crossed failed to help. We are still waiting.

Latest I have been advised is that all will be back up by end of today, but judging by what has been said earlier, it is difficult for me to be sure.

Oh dear, still poorly at 11:18 -"Server Error in '/' Application."!

By this time Ketan's blood pressure must be through the roof. Perhaps we should all order something by phone! Now were did I leave the Catalogue?

Hope it's fixed soon - nightmare.

Dave

Ha Ha smiley

So far, we are still sitting calm, dealing with various other house keeping, stock take, etc.

We are taking orders over the phone - no more no less than usual, along with a good number of calls coming in from well wishers to tell us that our site is down.

Update:

Our website came back up at around 2.30pm.

There were some glitches in the first hour, which have now been rectified.

Orders placed through the website are coming through.

Thank you all.

Ketan at ARC.
