Hello Neil and welcome. I started out with a Myford 'M' and very good it was too, apart from the 'backwards' saddle travel.

I soon got used to it but it was a devil to adjust to a 'normal' lathe when I upgraded to a Mitchell 6 1/2"

Hi Neil welcome to the forum. I also have an M Type and if you need any help just drop me a message. Where are you based and what are you interested in as it helps to suggest local supliers etc.

Welcome to the forum Neil. You Drummond M owners pop up all over the place - can't be many that have gone to scrap!

Welcome to the forum. Another M-Type owner here. The lathe that won the war. Still use mine in anger. A very nice, surprisingly useable old machine, once sorted.

Hi Carl, welcome.

Hope the weather in Florida is better than South West England at the moment - 10°C, damp, and overcast here!

Welcome!

Lots of help available on here.

Wherebouts are you located?

Have you joined a Model Engineering club yet?

The M series are handy little machines; quirky, but useful.

The "wrong Way" Saddle operation takes a bit of getting used to, but is OK once you remember which way to turn the handle and how to set up the changewheels!
