I came across this great concept used by drummers - especially for playing electronic kits indoors on wooden floors, as youc an wear headphones but still need to reduce the floor noise. With perhaps some simple adaptations it could be a great way to isolate a fairly hefty machine... Neil |

A very nice solution, using easily obtainable materials. Just wonder how many would be needed for a 300Kg machine? i e what is the load bearing capacity of a tennis ball Howard

I believe it does reduce noise but I think it introduces bounce when interrupted cuts are taken, similar to flexing of the column. The rubber was apparently an experimmental one used where my Brother used to work in the 80's, for a test on heavy grinders. Ed. |
