Electrical Engineer. Gradually drawn into the dark side of computer programming and system administration because no one else was prepared to write the programs I needed. Worked at GEC Steam Turbines/Alstom/ABB-Alstom Power/Alstom/GE. Got my 40 years award and took redundancy two months later.

Have a shed with a 1967 long bed ML7B, A 1952 Hardinge HLV, A Beaver VBRP mill of unknown vintage and a 1976 J&S 1400 surface grinder. Recently took City&Guilds levels 1&2 stick welding and levels 1&2 TIG welding courses. Currently on an endless cycle of using hand and machine tools to rebuild hand and machine tools.

Eventually I might get to starting some of the castings seasoning under the bench.
