I have just brought this propane gas burner, but what type of propane tank will this fit. The adapter should fit the hand held tank but has no thread for it to hold on to, the other that is on the gas tube what type of tank do they fit. The propane tank that dscn1148.jpgI have is just a blue tank with the dimple that is used as a pierce fit. I have tried my local DIY shop and non of his gas tanks fit.

Thanks Bob

The fitting on the gas pipe should be threaded and will fit a standard hand held canister with the male threaded fitting.

See Here I use a Rothenberg canister with fitting similar to your gas valve.

Mike.

It won't be for Propane

Butane or Butane mix camping or blowlamp canister, 100s on e-bay or decent DIY and camping shops.

Thanks for the advice, I have four types of gas canisters and thought at least one would have fitted.

Hi Bob,

Where did you get the burner?
Can you post a close-up, infocus picture of the tank fitting?
What is the ID of the tank fitting.

Robert G8RPI.

plenty of those burners on e-bay, I have used them and the adaptor on several models about 10mm x 0.75 but not.

The other adaptor in the photo is for an "easy-click" cansiter and the side not shown has the thread for the regulator.

EDIT, thread is 7/16" UNEF,canister spec EN417

+1 for that bottle

Take the burner with the valve to a local gas bottle supplier or camping shop and ask them to check the size
