Crikey - Do you get inside the box and shut the door to keep the workshop clean?

Hi, I think Dr Who has finally managed to disguise her TARDIS as something other than a police box. wink 2

Looks a bit contradictory to me. The loopy bit on the far end looks like an auto toolchanger carousel thingy, but the handwheel in the window shrieks 'manual'. Somebody'll maybe give us a clue eventually.

It's the Syil X7 with 12 tool changer, the big 4th (that's the hand wheel on the tailstock!) , Siemens 808d Advanced controller and Siemens servos and drives, the factory were very kind in including the laser ballscrew mapping at no extra charge.
The massive column and base castings were a significant part of the appeal of the X7, the absence of proprietary gubbins you can't buy elsewhere was also a consideration.
I've had my nose to the grindstone replacing the shower enclosure at the behest of SWMBO this weekend and this morning, back to work on the garage today! :D

Very impressive bit of kit, and with a 4th axis too! Makes my KX1 look like a toy! Tormach have certainly got some competition now.

Impressive indeed. I can't even begin to think what that machine cost. Makes the debate about used Myfords prices pale away. What will you use it for? Some commercial ventures or purely home hobby stuff?

Although I did look at Tormach and Skyfire at the start of this journey I don't think the X7 is intended as competition for either, the X7 is far more rigid and massive and has a base casting, not a stand.

It is my personal machine and will be used for motorcycle parts for me but I will be doing some commercial work with it, the commercial stuff is covered by NDAs so I'm not at liberty to give details without the permission of the IP owners until the products are released into the UK market.

Well you should be able to make some pretty fancy motorcycle parts on that rig!
