Does any one know where to get a 1/4 x40 ME to 1/8 pipe right angled steam valve that opens fully in half a turn so it can be controled by a radio control servo which only travels just over 180 deg.

Also does any one supply round lagging or is it realy painted string wrapped round?

Regards

Steam valve - if this is to be used to throttle an engine, then a globe type valve is not what you want. There are purpose made throttle valves available, I'll try.to post a link later

Pipe lagging - I've not yet found 'proper' pipe lagging cord for small pipes. I used cotton string painted with white type correction fluid on my boat's steam plant.

Roundhouse Engineering have a Steam Regulator, that may fit the bill.

On the website here:-  http://www.roundhouse-eng.com/

Have a look in the drop down menu Roundhouse Products, then click on Parts and scroll down the Parts List to REGRC

Nick.

My grandfather used to use pipe cleaners as lagging on his model tug boats engines.

I have just started to assemble a Roundhouse 'Lady Anne' loco kit.

The RC fittings kit includes the steam regulator mentioned by Nick, so I have taken some photos of it. See my 'RC steam regulator' album.

Not sure what the threads are but no doubt Roundhouse will tell you if it looks suitable.
