546 forum posts 32 photos | Yes 1 1/4" is the diameter of the blade itself, not the arbour hole. I will look at the dremel blades. |

![]() 327 forum posts 20 photos | What bore do you need? I can have a look in my box of slitting saws as I no longer use the very small ones (used to when I had a Myford), some are really small diameter and from memory I think most were about 1/4" bore. |

464 forum posts 2 photos | Arntz **LINK**have a good metric range of small slitting saws, it is a German based compagny but curiously only the Dutch and the US agents have the small ones. The direct link does not work, you find it by; Circular Saw Blades - Metal Circular Saw Blades and then at the end of the page you go to DIN 1837-1838. The 2 mm thickness will probably make a slit around 0.02 mm wider. If you clamp two of 1 mm together it will be less accurate and very close to your desire and if you want it a little wider you can clamp a shim from 0.02 mm or more in between. Niko. ![]() 327 forum posts 20 photos | Ronan I have just been through my tin of small slitting saws. I don't have an 982" one but have a pair of thinner ones that gang up to 087 if that is near enough for you. The blades are 1.75 diameter with 5/8 bore. Both ares HSS one by Buck and Hickman, the other Wolferal. Would these do the job? John |

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to do that John, but the OD needs to be 1.25", the thickness is not so critical, around the 2-3 mm mark, but the diameter is. Thanks again. |

![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | Ronan, what are you using the saws for? Would it be possible to make a simple cutter from a slice of silver steel or piece of gauge plate with say 8 teeth that could easily be mounted on an arbor or what about grinding down a cheap 1 1/4" dia woodruff cutter to the required width? 7517 forum posts 20 photos | Some on the big river. Probably not what you want or of decent quality, this set contains one cutter of 32mm diameter, but is cheap and blades could possibly be ganged together for extra width? Only posted it because we have no idea of the material to be cut... |

![]() 19226 forum posts 749 photos 86 articles | There's this one I made from 1 1/4" silver steel. Ended up about 29.9mm diameter, 2.65mm thick. I wanted to cut holding down slots in the sides of a cast iron toolmaker's vice. Did a great job and since I've used it for a few other things. Looks crap, but works fine, just needs to eb run gently as it's carbon steel. You could copy it as Jason suggests, or if you are really stuck and it's near enough on diameter I could post it. Neil |

Edited By JasonB on 14/10/2018 20:52:21 It is to mill a semi-circular slot into a block of steel about 8mm square. There is a piece that fits through the slot and when the 8mm piece lifts up and down, the cross piece, which is mounted on a pin, is used on the opposite end to lift something else, like a miniature see-saw. This is for a job for a college students project, i am not fully aware of what it does, and i would rather buy a cheap slitting saw than waste more time making yet another piece. Thanks all. |
