![]() 23121 forum posts 1360 photos | I purchased this at Chesterfield, on Sunday: The word Prescot caught my eye, but it may be nothing to do with the watchmaking trade. There is presumably an anvil of some sort missing from the coarser-threaded screw, and I guess it's some sort of 'bending tool'. Any ideas, please ? MichaelG. |

Small crimping tool of some sort?? . That seems more likely, Martin Maybe for electrical connectors, or wire ropes It would be nicely-proportioned for a ferrule of [say] 6mm to 8mm diameter. MichaelG. |

1297 forum posts 50 photos | I think Chris may have it. Being an information nerd, buried in my memory from many years ago was the knowledge that BICC stands for British Insulated Callender's Cables, and following on from that, one of the BICC group companies was BICC International, which may well be the 'BI' on the other side of the tool. |

Anything to do with BICC Cables, Prescot?? Chris Gunn . Very likely, I would think, Chris I was blissfully ignorant of BICC being in Prescot; I only ever knew it for the Horological side. ... The device is curently soaking in White Spirit as a start to its clean-up ... I will report back, in due course. MichaelG. . P.S. Please don't anyone protest if I decide to re-purpose it. .... If you consider it sacrilege, just make me an irresistible offer. .
