What is the grade of mild steel that has very little spring back when you bend it

Thanks

I think that it would be the forming process rather than the grade that influences this. Hot rolled steel would deform more readily than cold-rolled or bright drawn steel.

Yes. Cold rolled steel has been work hardened and will have some springback. It is not good enough for making springs. For that you need heat treated steel of medium to high carbon content. I suppose it may be possible to work harden steel by continued passes through the rolling mill but I am not aware of any being made commercially.

Black mild steel usually behaves this way. It's usually sweeter to machine than bright drawn if it's of decent quality without inclusions.

Black bar ( Hot rolled MS) is the most likely to be the most suitable but depends on the job and finnish you need. If you can heat the steel you can use bright drawn mild steel ( BDMS) but evan with black bar you will get some spring back and you will have to experiment with amount of over bending to get correct angle. Perhaps you can give us a little more info about job.
