The Boxford is being moved as per the manufacturer's recommendation. There is a thread cut in the first web in from of the chuck for a M16 x 2 lifting eye, failing that a single strap is used round the web and through the bed, NOT round it. The X10 series lathes balance correctly with a single point lift by adjusting the saddle and tailstock to an appropriate position as counterweights. If you lift an X10 Boxford with two straps round the bed it will bend the leadscrew. |

![]() 2156 forum posts | I know that one day I will have to move to a house with less upkeep and dread the day I have to move my kit. I will use the guys who delivered my lathe as they where so gentle with everything and could not do more to help. But until the 160 year old house gets to the stage where I can't do the work or afford it my machinery is safe. |
