Great view from the South side of the transporter bridge. We were a brilliant engineering town. Bridging steel across the world.. Dorman Long, Head Wrightson, Smiths dock, known the world over.

Fizzy, we have electricity up here, it's not as grim as you might think

Definitely a cruel and unusual punishment, was supposed to be a few months and turned into ten years. Certainly makes you more resourceful about doing more with less.

Keep spreading the word Fizzy and leave the NW to those of us who live here - that's absolutely fine by me

I do live here! Have done all my life. Rain, wind, cold...great if you like that sort of weather. Stunning views over pendle hill from my living room window, if the fog ever clears long enough.

I've also lived in the NW almost all my life, it's not such a bad place to be

Bit misty, bit rainy but ultimately 'bracing'

I've not moved yet and I'm already eyeing up more 'stuff'

Perhaps I should go revisit my new garage and measure it up.... that'll probably force the purchase of a shed as well
