I got an email today:

Dear [ContactName]

We are delighted to have you as a customer and I wanted to take the opportunity to write and thank you for your business.

The market outlook may be uncertain, but we are as committed as ever to improving our service and product offering for you

Was it from MyTimeMedia ?

That looks like the MSC marketing e-mail I received this morning - makes you feel special, hmmm ?

I guess somebody didn't tick all the right boxes in the bulk e-mailing software before pressing "send".

I had one too. Off MSC. I've bought a few items off them. Rather good prices sometimes when stuff is reduced.

I'll be curious to see if this thread vanishes after I post as some have.

Ditto, the title of the email was "Message from Mike"

I'd certainly buy more from them if they reduced their prices by a reasonable amount...say 85%

Just wondered how their UK pricing policy is compared to the USA. Years ago when the £ was around 1.80 it always seemed to be 1:1 for the UK market almost regardless of the company or product involved, and then we had VAT to add.

I remember buying a bit of specialist test kit in the mid 1990's It was cheaper for me to fly to New York for a long weekend (on a ticket booked a few months ahead) buy it retail, fetch it back to the UK, paying duty and VAT on the full declared value than it was to buy from one level up the distribution chain in the UK.

Unless the inflation rate through the roof I don't think the market uncertainties are going to give me any grief. It's just such a schmaltzy thing to say anyway, pop economics?...

By its very nature a market is uncertain.

Ditto, It's kinda spooky how quickly it was changed..maybe as a result of this thread! Perhaps they have eyes and ears on the forum
