Hello everybody, I am Mark, 44, and sadly I know very little about machining. I have however bought a lathe and a milling ,machine with my Dad and we enjoy tinkering on it. We are learning as we go (and making all the mistakes) but hope to improve with time. I look forward to spending time here and learning more from the more experienced members on the forum.

Warm regards,

Mark

Welcome Mark and your Dad.

There are lots of learners and experienced operators here. All of which are helpful and willing to share knowledge.

Paul.

It's nice both you and your Dad can enjoy can enjoy tinkering and a new adventure together. A mill & lathe can provide you many hours of enjoyment, and a great feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction in the bespoke things you make.

So Hello, and Welcome from another new member. smiley

Hi Mark & Dad!

You have started on a very rewarding voyage, I wish I had done so years ago. The folks on here are really helpful and have a breadth of experience that is truly amazing and their willingness to share is very humbling.

It is a good idea to post some sort of profile and general location as people near you can sometimes be helpful.

Martin

I only wish I had my dad around the workshop, he passed away 34 years ago, so we didn't get too much shop time, make the most of it.
