Well may have failed trying to put lines on but i can say she runs ok at long last.

Clacks now work great thanks to Julian both injectors working.

I have decided i am going to take the Axle pump of as do not have a feed point so not being used.

Just heard from my daughter who has done Art degree's is going to have a go at painting the stripes.

i have several sign writing brushes on in squirrel hair £15 but my hand to shake so given up.

Concrats on finally getting your engine sorted Ron.

Have you considered using a lining pen? or, as a last resort, using lining transfers?

There was at least one exhibitor, at the Midland mex, with lining pens, etc. Looked good, and easy (for the experts, anyway).

A friend bought one last year with magnetic strip when he tried he was very disappointed. He practised many times as it was expensive but in the end he gave up

My only advice is don't get me to do it...

Is it a good idea to have someone sat in the tender when its balanced on the stand?

Ron,

There is that book of course "How NOT to paint a loco". Whether this would help in your present circumstances I know not. Only offering a suggestion.

It's a rather curious title isn't it. Shouldn't really inspire alot of confidence but i guess if thats what it takes to get someone to look at it? Maybe a picture of a few wizards casting magic spells at a blank locomotive, it would fulfil the title at least.

then:

A little, err shall we say, inconsistent? Or 'one swallow does not make a summer' type comment? I would not usually jump to a conclusion in that small time period.

Try 'letraset' transfers like the loco numbering?

Craftmaster Paints - http://www.craftmasterpaints.co.uk - carry a range of lining tape. Stick it on, peal off the cover, paint between the lines and then remove.
