Looks just like a phone screen too. Nice to see new technology moving things forwards.

Works "OK" on a light weight metal, how about something a little tougher?

Its a clever idea, I guess its based on the position moving mechanism of a mouse (~.004"/step). Just need a good start location. Like a right angle locator for its zero. it would be very useful for cutting the recesses for stair case treads. Looks as though the tool is a bit weedy as is the motor.

What a conversation ..... it's all links.

Nearly as bad as wiki-type project documentation. (Nothing could actually be that bad).

It appears to use hand movement for bulk or long moves and localised detail is handled by a CNC move of the router relative to the main base. Somehow it combines the two. I would think staircase tread routing is a bit big for it to be an advantage but it would be useful for doing text and pattern engraving and inlays.. For inlays it should be able to to switch it from doing the recess and the insert.

I suppose I should look at their website but there is no link on this thread to that so I am at a loss as how to proceed. cheeky

I would imagine the reference is from the dot matrix tape and a camera, so once you are happy that the cutter is at the start point the cnc will adjust the cutter as you move the base. could be useful for site work as you only need to stick the dot tape down and the you can route a complex hole or shape anywhere you like.
