All but 2 of my rads have typical square head bleed cocks.. those two I finally got to exmainign with a magnifying glass (old age is no fun) and the blessed things are male hexes.. 3/16 socket too small and 7/32th too big. 5mm too small and 5.5mm too big and I'm out of owned options.

Anyone guess what they really are? 5.2mm or 13/64? Why in the name of the almighty would you choose a wicked size like that????

No idea what size they are supposed to be ... but a Flank Drive socket would probably do the trick.

I suspect it's a special size only known to the mystical order of diabolic plumbers and fishplate polishers.. Grr

I suppose a few shreds of ally drink can stuck inside a socket might work or epoxy one on overnight???

Chances are there is paint on the hex. Try a 5/16" socket and a small hammer.

.

That would be a lot of paint !!

.

However [pgk] ... you might check for a paint-filled screwdriver slot, if the valves are anything like these

All right! 3/16" then, or even 5mm.
