Free Plan: A Simple Lathe

Free Plan: A Simple Lathe

Most of us who own a lathe with a centre height of 3 inches or more at times feel we would like a smaller one for those fiddly bits. This design for such a lathe by the late Mr J.T. Bergin appeared in issue 7 of MEW with the kind permission of Mrs Bergin.

It is worth looking up the original article, as it has a couple of pictures including a slide, although one caption says this is the unfinished tailstock. Sadly Mr Bergin appears to have died before writing up all the components.

Issue_7 also has an excellent design for a Taper Turning attachment.

Well worth a look ... designed for Toyo; it appears to be readily adaptable.
