The brighter side of myfords very sad demise.

137 forum posts 1 photos | Joe, Just to add, like KWIL earlier, I've checked three of my toolholders, from both earlier delivery and the latest, and all have 0.225" thick bottom ledge. Incidentally the centre height on my ML10 is greater than the nominal 3 1/4" at 3.3125" so might be worth checking yours (if you haven't already, of course). Robin |

154 forum posts 18 photos | Thanks Robin. Yes, my ML10 is a smidgeon over nominal at 3.5/16" centre height but the ruling factor for a QCTP is that the spindle centre line is only 1/2" above the topslide surface. The practical maximum tool size for a Myford/A & R QCTP is therefore 0.500 - 0.225 = 0.275", just over 1/4". Anyway, I'm content with that and at a pinch can use 5/16 bits by grinding them down to centre height. Joe |
