There are a few supplies for the casting, Reeves, Blackgates & GSS all do them,

As for the boiler, i would just order one from Western Steam, cost a few pounds but you will have a perfect start to the project.

Turned a couple of diameters to help form the beading,

that with lots of annealing seemed to do the trick.

To answer Django, i only have a few hours a week, that together with all

the messing about is why it’s taken so long, i would have thought if you set your mind to it then you could build one in a fraction of the time.

Need some help regarding this one.

Beading the tender on the Minnie, left-hand side the beading needs forming around the driver entry/exit cut out.

Tried forming it by hand but it's not working, wondered how others managed it.

Need some expert advice if possible.

I need to make a small aluminum plate, approximately 35 x 35 x 1mm thick

This then needs plating

Does this need to hang in the tank? and if so is it possible to bond / solder a wire or lug to the back?

Ash pan and damper sort of complete, need to make the linkage and a few other bits but its nearly there,

Going to move onto the tender for a while, need to solder this up and make water tight, then add the beading.

I always struggle with bending material, always have.

I end up making formers for everything.

Does anyone have any experience with box pan folders?

Looking for something 12" long, maybe like the one Warco sells

I am working on the ash pan, damper and hinge arrangements.

I have made the hinge that attaches to the front of the boiler but am having trouble picturing the 2 small hinges that solder to the damper.

Would anyone have a clear picture?

I am in the process of making a Rivet Squeezer to help me complete the riveting needed on the 1" Minnie I'm building.

Based on 1/16" copper rivets, what is the best method to produce the dome within the rivet snap?

Hello Jeff, never got that far,

Plan now is to write a list of all the half finish bits I need to do then strip the engine and sort all the gaskets so I can get it running,

Im not planning on painting it so just need to clean everything.

Be good to get it finish, I’ve really dragged my feet with this and I’m lucky I have never lost interest.
