Past experience - sellers sometimes forget to remove when sold.

Bill

Quite likely I should think. On the three occasions I've contacted sellers expressing an interest in buying I've never received the courtesy of a reply.

Still, problem solved, I don't waste my time looking at the classifieds on this site now.

Are you sure you are not removing your e-mail address from the text that is automatically generated, we get that quite often where someone enquires but the seller can't get back to them.

Hi Ron. I always remove an add after the item has been sold and have sold few things from this site. I have also bought stuff. Its very useful to get things seen by people with similar interests. See you on Monday

Enquired about a Sieg micro mill three days ago. No reply and still listed in the for sale section.

Bill

Summer holidays a possibility? Probably not, but I would certainly not be advertising my summer hols in any advert!

I have received an 'alert' message regarding my for sale ad., but there is no mention of the enquirers details other than his name of Chris. Is there a glitch in the system perhaps? Is there any way I can follow-up please?

Thanks, Dereck.

... and yet again , made an enquiry re. an advertised item - still listed, no response, not even the courtesy of "Sorry, already sold"

Sign of the times, bad manners, couldn't care less ... or what? Very irritating, whatever the reason

Bill did you make sure the text generated by the software and placed into your reply was there and not deleted as many make that mistake. Which means the recipient just gets an e-mail from No reply @ MTM

Thank you, Jason - No, I didn't - because I was unaware such a problem existed. However, having had no response to the forum message, I used the advertiser's email address on the message form and sent a message direct - no response to that either.

PS - if your caveat refers to the incorporated message note " this message was sent by ... etc" , I never delete that, but do find it confusing as to where one's own text should start - above that warning or after it? Never had this problem with the runner with a cleft stick!!cheeky

PPS - perhaps filling the entire 'for sale' box has exhausted the member concerned!

I put the recent series of items on the web site on behalf of my cousin Jeremy Haynes who is clearing the last items from his father’s workshop. I have spoken to him this morning and find that hotmail is in some difficulty, and he is not getting any emails. This accounts for the lack of response.

Two or three people have come through to me via the messaging feature on this forum and I have put them in touch with Jeremy directly via his mobile. Jeremy is happy for anyone interested in the items to call his mobile, it is 07989 505232.

When items are sold, Jeremy will let me know and I will remove them from the listing to avoid disappointment.

apologies for the confusion.

I am quite intrigued about some posts that have been made by "Former Member" ie 34046 . They have been removed but their post is still visible as a quote in other posts. ???? Were these posts removed by the OP or by Mods ? Just curious.

regards

Oldiron- unless someone better qualified can advise, I assume that 'Former Member' refers to one of our more talented members, who left for a while, but has recently returned to provide more of his much-missed expertise. His original user name was changed when he resigned.

He's not back as far as I know and asked to be removed which takes his posts with him.

As promised, I have just updated the list of items for sale based on activities over the last day or two. Still plenty of nice stuff available.

A further update to the list just made and a new email for Jeremy - [email protected] - fingers crossed this new address works for everyone.
