David,

One quick question, Is Ray's Darjeeling B Class loco there?

I am still trying to get photo's of the right hand side of the loco.

Robin,

The way I print (to printer or pdf) is I click on the page to zoom in, let the screen display, move the mouse pointer to the top of the page, you will see a <Print Page> button in the middle (at top of page), click this and the standard windows print box comes up, select printer and away you go. (I print to a pdf printer)

Roy,

In IE8 there is a icon (like a torn sheet of paper) to the right of the box that you enter the web address into.

Thread: why we have boiler regs
30/10/2012 00:01:34

There is at least 1 company supplying Tig Welded Copper boilers, I am assuming that these meet the regulations.

Sorry but I don't know about Mig/Tig Welding for Steel Boilers. (Not sure if the Blue Book specifies method of Welding -- My book is not to hand)

I am sure that when the Blue Book is revised, it will take account of the more modern welding technologies that are now available.

Thats why we have the 'Blue Book' ... To protect the innocent from the foolish !!!!

By the way, I don't find the current regs restrictive .... but then I don't have any steel boilers, only copper. (3.5" and 16mm Gauge)

Out of every 10 people that can build boilers, 9 can and they are quiet safe, but it is the other 1 that can't build a boiler but thinks he can, are why the reg's are there.

Johan,

You don't say if you are using a PC/Mac, which operating system and version .... or what Internet browser you are using.

If you you are using Windows and using IE8 or 9 then try setting compatability mode.

Thread: Will it be strong enough?
20/10/2012 21:41:43

Since it is inside the boiler I would use either Bronze or Stainless Steel. (Copper is the only other material I would use inside a boiler but is not strong enough in this case)

All,

I would tend to agree with Julian, he has made an excellent point.

At the club I belong to, if a member is building their own boiler, the clubs boiler inspector likes to see the boiler at various stages during its construction, so he can see the hidden internal joints. (and spot a potenhtial problem before the build is complete.)

Thread: Why is this site's functionality so DREADFUL!!!!!
12/10/2012 22:19:06

Hi John,

It works fine for me as well. IE9 (64-Bit) on Windows 7 (64-bit) (With Compatability mode off)

What browser are you using (and version), sounds as if it could be a caching problem or even security settings in your browser.

Does it happen to all issues or just two inparticular?

Michael,

Are you trying to login in on more than one machine at the same time?

If you signin on your Mac, and then you sign in on your ipad it will sign you out of the Mac. (You can only be signed in on 1 machine/platform at any one time)
