Thread: Myford ML7 drip oilers |
14/09/2022 23:12:56 |
In the past I have modified the tapered shaft of the oilers by changing the taper to a much finer one and leaving a step at the largest point and fitting an o ring to give positive shut off. I have done 4 so far 2 on an ml7 and two on main bearings of a marine steamer and they are both still working surprise surprise. |

Thread: Rivet gun nose apertures |
13/09/2022 16:51:27 |
Sorry but if you use a larger nose than the rivet you run the risk of raising the centre of the finished rivet and as far as raising knurl type marks on the mandrel it should not make any difference to its ejection as its supposed to be ejected from the rear of the gun. |

Thread: ER25 MT2 |

The system that Roderick J uses is similar to the one used by Clarkson for their MT 2 collet chucks which had a fine thread at the rear of the collet chuck, the drawbar is tightened and the the nut is tightened by hand up to the machine spindle adding stiffness to the collet chuck as Clarkson thought the MT 2 spindle a little flimsy for big cuts. I use this nut in a similar way to Roderick. I also use the same system as Roderick on my sherline mill. |

A ring at the rear of the job would help as would filling the bore with a plug. |
