Well I've been putting cables through the loft etc today from my Freesat dish to a couple of tv boxes, an extra trip to Maplins was needed, because I only measured once not twice!

Anyway it's all up and running now and we can watch and record programmes in HD.

Just had an Email that Axminster tools have started their sale, now off to look at their website.

I remember the Dansette record players and radio grams very well (repaired a few in my time), and those rotary type controls!

Somewhere in our loft there is an old reel to reel tape recorder with very similar controls, one day I might finish the project to replace them, I did have a few ideas for using ordinary pots with friction drive from the rotary block, other things have got in the way since though.

I did see some good quality work by a chap located at the end of the SMEE stand at Sandown.

On the news this morning there was mention of an expected large increase in employment next year, the main complaint seemed to be that a there is a shortage of skilled people to satisfy the demand.

Now there's a surprise (not).

I did go on the Friday,the selection of models was excellent and the enthusiasm on club stands was really great.

where you email an STI file in advance, then come and see your object printed at the show.

I too have a good body clock, excepting for a few weeks every Spring and Autumn, when the Politicos tell us that time must alter by an hour.

I've decided to stay with the mischievious Elves theory it is so much easier and, even the wife blames them for things she cannot find now.

As for Rats, I leave them to the neighbours super hunter cat, which also sorts out Sqirrels and, has even attacked an odd Fox or two!

I have been assembling Christmas Trees today, then putting lights etc on them.

Tangled wires in boxes, lights that worked when I tested them but not on the tree, ornaments that were Broken in their boxes, had to go out for a while then found the wife quietly re-arranging it all when I came back.

If you are within reach of Sandown Park or Ally Pally, there are a couple of good M.E Exhibitions coming up shortly.

I find these are good places to Get small quantities of materials and look at kit..

I know next to nothing about Hydraulics but for many years motor vehicles have been fitted with compact hydraulics for power steering etc.

Some (I'm told) have battery powered pumps, it might be an idea to check if there are any scrappies in your area to have a friendly chat with.
