Thread: The Diamond Tool Holder |
21/01/2019 19:34:39 |
I made the tool holder as per Mikesworkshop for my ancient Drummond lathe and as a beginer found it to be one of the best tooling parts that I have ever made. So easy to sharpen for the beginer. I have just made two more to suit my Myford/Drummond M. Have mounted them on a Norman Patent style tool post mounted on the crosslide. John |

I am pleased it is not just me that has this problem. I have looked at it that if they cannot be bothered to answer then I will take my money elsewhere....John |

That's what I like about this forum. This donation of "scrap?" to a worthy cause rather than melted down maybe to return to us as chineesium tooling. Good on ya Roger. Have any more members got articles, metals etc that are scrap to them but may be of use to other members? |

Stan Bray in his book "Making Model Steam Engines" shows drawings for a Clapper engine called "Clarence" this is a steam/compressed air engine using a ball bearing valve lifted by a pin in the top of the piston. Hope this helps JC |

Jason, many thanks for showing the "SAVE AS" command. I now have a master tool holder drawing and several variants saved for different sized tooling. Just what I wanted.. |
Thread: Todays Mystery Objects? |
27/11/2018 22:46:22 |
Just a thought could they be something to do with a theodolite/surveying equipment? I have a fitting very similar to the "connector" at the top of these articles that came with some theodolite bits of my fathers. I have often wondered what the piece was from originally. JC |

Thread: Drill Chuck Falling Off |
23/11/2018 19:56:42 |
I gave the chuck and arbour a good workout today with a lot more abuse than I usually give my tools/machinery and everything stayed nicely together and worked perfectly. Once again many thanks for your suggestions. JC |
22/11/2018 16:33:37 |
Thanks all for the suggestions. I have only used it for drilling. Cleaned everything up today, marked with permanent marker and gave it a twist. Yes very slight burr that i couldn't feel.. A quick lap using of all things autosoll cleaned it up nicely. Arbour now in freezer and chuck on radiator, hopefully they will shrink fit together nice and tight. JC |
