At the medical company I worked for we used lots of WD-40; HSS tool bit with approx. .015 radii at it's tip and spindle speeds about 600 to 650 RPM. Slow feed. Hardly ever a need to polish afterwards. |

I'm so gratefull to have my shop. Spending shop time takes away some of the worries of how bad things are in this Old World. Most any thing we require is being ordered and sent to us so very little need or want to venture out. |

About 55 years ago my uncle told me to use clean motor oil as it has strong cleaning agents in it. He made some compound of motor oil, fine saw dust and lanolin....that worked very well. Today I use Dawn dish soap and clothes that exfolliate your skin, works very well too. |

Very cool machines but for the average guy are we really in in need of such high tolerance? No. Yet if I could find a machine like shown here I would get it..... just cause. We all like to get better finishes and tighter tolerances, so this Florida hobby guy is with you. |

Thread: Hydraulic press |

Your press looks to be exactly like the Dake 10 ton press I have with the same problem..... so far no luck in correcting it but I haven't jumped into it much. I think the check valve comment may be it. Need to try that right now. |
