Have to agree with Larry if someone's bust then a quick 'Hello be with you ASAP' works well for me but if it's one of these people who carry on and totally ignore you then I just about turn and go somewhere else ! H |

Sean connect your motor to the VFD as above but you will also need to setup the VFD to suit the size of motor it's connected to, this is relatively easy follow the instructions in the manual that comes the VFD or asking the question on the forum one thing to note though as V*eng pointed out your motor is not 1HP as you stated in your opening post it is in fact .37kw 1/2 hp important to get it correct when setting up the VFD H |
Thread: What milling machine |
26/07/2017 22:06:26 |
Having moved things around in the workshop (shed ) I now have a little more room so given that my drill press is passed it I thinking of getting a bench top milling/drill machine but which one ! I do not have a great demand for milling just servicing my 3" Burrell and to date have milled on my S7, I have done a search for buying suggestions but still would like to ask the question and suggestion as to what 'budget' bench top machine should I go for Cheers H |

Chuck keys are like that: they disappear as soon as nobody is holding them down. I even painted mine bright red and made a special clip for it to hang from right there on the lathe where I need it - and the b!@#$%y thing still can never be found. Must be a cousin to my pillar drill chuck key, now my old Bosch pistol drill chuck key never run's away maybe because it's so old H |

Posted by Andy Carruthers on 12/07/2017 11:26:55:
Many years ago I was told not to use fluorescent lamps to illuminate rotating machinery as the stroboscopic effect can give the impression the machine is switched off Unless my memory fails me! No your memory is ok I remember many years ago I worked with the works electrician and our job was to wire up a new machine shop he explained that the lighting was to be spread across the 3 phases because of said problem

. Youtube will give the easiest ways to understand the principles in a diagramatic form. (lots of videos there) Here is one of a very simple 'Double acting' engine. Have to agree youtube is a useful source if your interested in model steam take a look at some of this guy's videos he's his also quite funny at time Keith Appleton H |
Thread: What Did You Do Today (2017) |
30/06/2017 22:39:43 |
I have been needing a bit more storage in the workshop (posh for shed) so yesterday I was forced into going to IKEA and whilst in there I noticed this draw unit link in black, now the wife had a credit note which she kindly said I could use so I purchased one. Today was assembly day the unit was nicely flat packed but would it got together without me loosing my sanity or temper well I have to say how easy it went together it had been well thought out and was assembled before I'd finished my coffee.
