I need to replace a left-hand thread wheel bolt and nut for an LDV van.

They are no longer manufactured and the odd ones available are for double rear wheels and no nuts...

I'm quite capable of making a suitable stud and nut, but what would be the best choice of steel?

My guess is EN24T would e better than EN19T?

Stub.

Don't give poor stub a hard time, he's been in hiding for months!

Apparently the spares company told him to take one to an engineering firm and get a copy made.

Hi Stub,

Personally I would use EN24T nots much to choose between them for performance but this material has a slightly better resistance to impact and I find it machines better than 19T.
