Mystery RouterHi all,

Does anyone know the brand name (red letters) of the CNC router in the picture attached?

Thank you,

Marvin

Hi, thanks for the reply. The problem is that I'm limited to the picture now attached. I can't make it out no matter how much I try to unblur the picture.

Marvin,

Looking at the Video ...

I think it's just a mechanical linkage, not CNC

At a guess the part at right that shapes the lens is an off-the-shelf high speed spindle.

Hi guys,

Yeah, it's a pantograph essentially. However, I'd like to use the same drill/router in the video/picture in something similar I'm working on.

Thanks for your help.

Thought I could make out a "K" but its not the Kress logo.

Are you wedded to the idea of that particular spindle? If no these from Arc might do LINK

Thanks Neil. I saw those last night. I may go that route.

I sent them an email asking if they knew what brand this system was and they're the ones that gave me the idea to use a forum like this btw

By the way, does anyone know a good mechanical engineer that can help me make a machine similar to this one? Perhaps I should post this in another thread :/

Marvin,

The Furia machine is very stylish, but it may be worth looking at some other versions.

Google Search for "copy carver", and you should find plenty of inspiration [example]

That said ... you mention working on "something simlar"

I would be very interested to know what you are planning.

Michael,

Thanks for the suggestion and link. I'm interested in making a machine that can copy lenses similar to what the Furia machine does. The design is not complicated, I just need to learn a little solidworks I think.

Martin, I have one of these spindles tucked in a draw that I'd like to sell if you're interested? Send me a PM.
