Is there any chance of the Chester advert being mooved out of the main body of the forum and placed at the side where the commercial ones are located?

Pretty soon you will have to search hard to find the forum posts if this carries on.

But without the income from the adds there may be no forum, can't have one without the other. I expect Chester paid more to have the add in a prominent position so it got noticed.

I dont mind the adverts (except when they obscure text) and I actually use them when I want to go to one ot their sites.

I have never seen a Chester advert in the main body of the forum. Is it only visible on some browsers or operating systems? Maybe I am missing something

Jason,

I appreciate that the powers that be behind the Mew magazine need the income to keep going but how many prominent positions are you prepared to allocate to the detriment of the Forum space?

No adverts at all showing on mine (Firefox), learn how to configure your ad-block and banner removal if it bothers you.

I use Firefox and the Ad. (on the home page) is still there as it is on my Ipad 3.

Windows 7 with Firefox and Google.

I have never had problems with adverts that cover or obstruct part of the screen.

I recently had to refresh Firefox, and now they are there, stopping me from reading much of the right-hand side.

I have installed adblocker as advised in 'search' and that has probably done good elsewhere, but I still can't read the latest posts column on the right.

Advice, please.

Thanks

.

Len,

I'm intrigued ... I can't find a Chester Ad. on the home page.

Methinks there may be some clever "personalised advertising" going on.

Any chance you could post a screen-shot ?

Michael, its a year old thread, just the last post is current. Adblockers can make viewing this site a problem

I have just uninstalled a programme that I didn't knowingly install, called Webget.

This seems to have got rid of the big adverts.
