using subscription on MEW app on I pad

hiya,

I subscribed to the digital magezine and would like to use the app to read them but it won't let me.

I logged in ok, I think, but I don't have access to the magezines.

what am I doing wrong?

Hi Becky,

I have had no probs using an andriod o/s to view the magazine but an i pad may be different or need an app to view it .

If you are logged in the the info pane on the left of the home page will show your user name and a list of links .

if not then you need to sort out why you are not logged in.

If you're logged in :

Click the link for digital issues and a new page will open showing what you're subscriptions are - either mew , me or both .

If the page is empty then youre subscription may not be active or activated yet as it can take a day or two for it to go through .

Click the mew link and it should open the veiwer but could take a while to open depending on the speed of your internet connection .

Barring that i'm sure some one on this forum will know more about the i pad than do .

I think it may be that safari and the ipad don't support Flash, load a different browser onto the ipad

If you type "flash player on ipad" into google it will give some fixes

I can access both ME and MEW from my ipad, are you using the app or safari? You need the App.

You need to goto iTunes and download the app. (Search for Model Engineer in the App store)

Hiya all,

I have the app installed but it won't allow me to access the magizines. It just keeps reffering me to the subscriptions.

I can read them on safari, no problem. Just have to fight with the zoom at times.

I tried an app via the app store which seems to be official, it did not work, there used to be one which covered both ME & MEW (that worked) but now I cannot find it there now.

Perhaps the ED can advise?

Can you expand on the 'got locked out bit', if its what I think it is then I suspect you are not the only one experiencing lockups on this website.

The site works fine for me on the Ipad, just not any any app.

Got locked out of editing my post, perhaps I took too long in typing or something?

It's V8Eng because I like the sound of V8 engines.

If my memory serves me right - there used to be a small ad on the forum page which led you the ipad app directly. It doesn't seem to be there anymore. Pretty sure that's how I got the app on this ipad. Just log in as you would on the web site and the issues are all available. I seem to remember David Clark doing a thread about it. I'll look for it in a minute!

And I searched but found nothing pertinent, although some previous comments in other threads suggest the app available from the appstore may only allow downloading he current issue, at a price.

I understand you can purchase a download from the Apple Newstand for a price for the current issues and a higher price for the archive. I am afraid I do not use this service so will leave it to others to steer this thread.

I have just checked my iPad (The original one) ... when I tapped the ME/MEW App icon, I got a login box where I had to enter my Username and Password, after this I get a choice of ME or MEW then I see all the issues, exactly the same as you do on the web site. I can read any issue in the archive.

Works perfectly for me. (Remember that you must have a Internet connection)

I think i get it now.

the one in the app store is a third party app.

I did a search for mew ipad app in google and there it was a different one.
