Would it be possible for you to get the problem on the thread 'Steel Cylinders' sorted out.
The text is under the ads again caused no doubt by the long URL links.
Is it not time this problem of URL links was sorted out once and for all? After all its effect rather negates the postings when only half the text can be seen and consquently the meaning or context lost.
I think others have asked before. Is it not time there was a sticky on how to post URLs etc at the beginning of each sub title for those new to the forum to follow?
Hope you are able to fix this soon
Kind regards - Ramon Edited By Ramon Wilson on 21/11/2010 10:38:06 |

Hi Tony
Have a look at the "Steel for Cylinders" thread
Jen's post contains some long links which, I understand, causes the problem. Why it does I'm afraid is beyond my pay grade!

I use mozilla firefox on XP service pack 2 to browse and post and I've never seen the reported problems. intriguing. state of the art software sometimes has state of the art problems ( ie unsolvable) the old reliable stuff will do me. |

While the topic is adverts, may I thank the advertising dept for putting an advert for "Figleaves" at the top of a post a few weeks ago. It was most pleasant to be reminded of how attractive young females can be in their "scanties".

![]() 1946 forum posts 179 photos | hi Howard, This is a common problem on this site when a long url is posted. I also use the same configuration as yourself as well as when using my MacBook running OS Snow Leopard, and get the problem whenever it occurs. it is a problem with the software used to build the forum and not with individual PCs. Regards Terry |

It was an advert for Figleaves at figleaves.com, I regret to say that I had no knowledge of this site till I saw your head of the page recommendation. Ain't the 'net wonderful!
![]() Can you recommend your sales dept. put some more similar sites on as that one stirred happy memories. It made an old man happy, or was that a happy man old?

I suggest this may have been a Google ad.
If you confirm it was not, I will take it up with the mangement.
I would not want anyone to be distracted from modelmaking.

I suspect it was, looking at the top of a page, but don't be a spoil sport. Man cannot live by machining alone.

PS What was that line in Blackadder about "nothing to keep him company in the trenches but a Harrod's lingerie catalogue"

I think mystery is solved and regrettably it only involves Long Johns (not a euphemism). Or as the old jokes goes "winter draws on".

Hate to be a pain David but here we go again - Aircraft General Discussion - all the early posts are under the ads - long URL the culprit again I guess.
Please - I know I'm not alone on this but is it really not possible to get this particular problem resolved. Regards - Ramon
