Hi. All.
I've been trying to source a couple of foot of inch and a half diameter EN16T   There are plenty of suppliers on line, but no one seems too keen to supply a small amount.    Any one know a friendly stock holder who would supply the quantity I need?

I don't know a UK supplier for small qty, but you might look online for SAE 4037 or 4140. These are US spec steels equivalent to EN16T  that are commonly available and maybe more so in small qty than EN16T.

Good luck in the hunt.

Metal Supermarkets have outlets in the UK and will supply whatever quantity you want no matter how small.

Yes but they do not sell EN1a, only seems to start at EN8. They sell CS70 spring steel but do not say what the width is!!

Just pointing out that Metal Supermarket is not a full line supplier and their website leaves you asking questions. Afterall I gave Mick the straight lead to FES where he got what he wanted.

Regarding M Machine, I tend to use the phone rather than email. They always seem somewhat busy when I speak to them, so perhaps your mail slipped through the net.

Ah, I shouldn't have posted my suggestion then. Abject apologies.

Just to add comments on Metal Supermarket, this afternoon I popped along to the Park Royal branch only to find that  their computer was "down",  and as they don't have a hard copy of their price list, I could not buy anything, even though they had what I wanted. As our American cousins would say "go figure"!
Anyway it puts paid to the thought I had that they made their prices up depending on which way the wind is blowing or some such arbitary variable. Shows even I can be wrong, once in a while.

I have 15" of 1 1/2" diameter and 10" of 2 1/4" EN1APb picked up from metal supermarkets scrap bin...

It's a franchise BTW so each branch is pretty independent and their stock refelects local needs.

When they found I was a model engineer we had a good chat and I got a good deal, but they asked me not to direct folk to the branch in question - I think they fear a lot of tyre-kickers.
