103 forum posts | Be very careful when purchasing test equipment. I bought a test bar from a well known advertizer, it was so inacurate as to be unusable. In fairness, he did give a refund without a quible.
Be sure to get an assurance that the item is manufactured in the UK, Western Europe, or USA. Other sources may be OK but are questionable.
Try Arrand, The Forge, Knossington, Nr Oakham, Leicestershire, LE15 8LN. 01664 454566. I have dealt with this British firm & found them helpful & their products good.

58 forum posts | As Peter Gain says-you won't go far wrong buying from Arrand Engineering.I have bought a few things from them.Ok they're not cheap but you get is quality, unlike some imported items which sometimes leave a little to be desired. |

2742 forum posts 39 photos | I bought Arrand test bars some years ago, they come with statements of surface finish, roundness, run out and so on. Testing these needs specialised equipment certified to at least 10x better accuracy than the spec which the bar meets. Testing between centres will simply not be good enough. Trust the manufacturer in this case, I can vouch for their quality. Brian Wood |
