Hi, why do I have to waste everyone's time posting to the forums before I can see contact information for an advertisement posted to the classifieds?

Thanks,

Ash

Simple Ash, are you a Model Engineer, will you add to the forum's knowledge, or do you just want to use the site to sell something.

Regards

Hi Ash

I believe it is to deter the scammers and prevent them easily obtaining the advertisers contact information. This site has thankfully stayed fairly free of that sort of thing.

Just a post or two about you or one of your interests or projects is all it takes.

Dave

edited for sausage finger spelling again!

So that the system knows [or at least believes] that you are a human being with some interest in the subject matter: Model Engineering in its broadest sense.

If it was up to me [which it is not] … I would require ‘in-comers’ to post something of interest to the forum rather than [as you note] wasting everyone’s time.

.

Edit: __ Two others have posted replies whilst I was composing that ^^^

I think you should get the general idea now.

Welcome to the forum.

Currently, we don’t actually know if this poster intends to be an active member or not.

There's no denying he was right, though. At the time of writing this there were 894 people who wasted their time reading the thread and 7 who responded. Oh, and add me to that list, as well, now.
