Does anyone know of a good source of 1/12 scale model people to add to my Fire King engine?

There's an outfit called modelu who do figures up to 1/19th scale, it might be worth sending an email to see if he'd do 1/12th.he used to offer a service to 3d scan you, so you could have a mini-me driving your loco, or fire engine in this case. If it works out get back as I need a figure for the front of my fairground organ

Bob, 1/12 scale is a common size for dolls houses so you should be able to find figures intended for that use which will pass muster for your Fire King.

A quick search on the internet for 1/12 scale figures should come up with plenty. Some are made as rigid and some "poseable", so more adaptable.

I have a vague recollection of our esteemed editor having this done and a 3D print made for one of his projects. Not sure whether I read it on this forum, in the magazine - or possibly I dreamt it!

As far as dolls house figures go the most of the cheap rigid ones are made in China. If you spent lots of cash making your model then don't spoil it by adding cheap figures.

For a living I made 1/12th scale models for museums and collectors worldwide, many of these models had figures made by artisans and they can be made and dressed to your requirements. I have made a few figures myself and still have some moulds for faces, hands etc.

I see from the Modelu website that they 1/12th and even 1/10th scale figures.

Not cheap though!

Make your own on a 3D printer? May be some files on ‘thingyverse’, for example?
