250 forum posts | They might be to hold down roofing sheets, but these are normally a simple J hook. They do look more like they are to retain a wire / cable against a post or perhaps even heavy duty fencing. |

1186 forum posts 11 photos | It is not clear if they are best referred to as hooks or eyes. That makes identification more difficult. Possible useful search terms might be 'M6', 'threaded', 'BZP', 'folded'. They could be useful if the threaded part is upwards, hence the other end is horizontal. You could almost throw a cable at them and it would drop into the eye. Maybe they are used with a chain to suspend strip lights. |

1346 forum posts 15 photos | I think DC31K might have it right ! I seem to recall coming across something like those items, many moons ago, maybe 60 years ago, so at this stage, I,m not too sure where I saw them or what they were for, but they did exist ! Anyone else have any ideas ? |

2356 forum posts 47 photos | In North America this style of threaded hook was used for rigging residential TV aerials and their tripod towers just FYI, 1950's to 1970's era, before cable TV, and later, Blockbuster, satellite TV, Netflix etc. ate over-the-air TV's lunch. |

859 forum posts 268 photos | I think pgk & Jeff are close on the money, aren't they for pulling 'angle members' against a flat surface, the 'tang' at the loop end bears on the internal flat of the angle to keep the 'face' of it in firm contact with the supporting surface - the 'flat' bit of the 'L' projects outwards like a shelf into the loop.
