15 forum posts 2 photos | I have a digital subscription and occasionally like to view the issues on my computer, it's been about 3 months since I've tried to do this through logging in here. But now find I can't seem to view any digital magazines through here, I log in and click on "magazines" and then Model Engineers Workshop which takes me to a page (**LINK**) where it asks for my email address and customer id. Well I don't seem to be able to find my customer id and entering my subscription number doesn't seem to work either so I click on the link for finding my "Customer id" which takes me here (**LINK**) and try to login there using my email and password only to have it rejected. What am I doing wrong and why is this so difficult How do I access my digital magazines?

15 forum posts 2 photos | No I haven't read that, so thanks, but find this very poor communication from the owners. As I said it's been 3 months since I've been on here so wasn't aware of the problems till today. Perhaps the owners should have sent a letter, either digital or by mail, to advise their customers what is happening, what it would mean, and a time frame for issues to be resolved. No I haven't had an email re Direct Debit because I don't have a Direct Debit set up and my subscription is paid in full till December 2023. So given that I won't get an email where do I get my id number? |

1826 forum posts 1 photos | How tiresome all this has become, I have a digital only subscriptions to ME & MEW and enjoyed accessing back issues. Whilst I appear to have access through my Pocketmags account that is only part of an answer I have been reading both magazines for several decades (MEW from issue 1). I do not appear to have a customer number. I think you might have lost a customer at next renewal and I may be thumbing through issues at the newsagents then buying if required.

![]() 1545 forum posts 484 photos | V8Eng, Don't give up that easily. Have a look at page 4 of the thread pointed to by Jason, above, about half-way down. Email [email protected] with your mytimemedia details and you will get a reply giving you your customer ID. Archive access is incomplete at the moment and there is a massive gap between 2020 and 2010. I imagine it's a huge logistical effort to transfer the back issues to the new archive - and presumably new format - but I think the wait will be worth it. The Mortons-related viewer seems superior to the old one in as much as it offers the ability to print pages individually or in multiples, so selecting whole articles should be a doddle, for example. ![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | Ian and V8 as you will have seen in the linked thread you will be sent an ID when the system is fully up and running if you did not get it with the DD e-mail or you can contact them if you can't wait. "We are planning to send an email to everyone with Customer IDs. Currently, the only way to get it is from the cover sheet that gets posted with the magazine, or by emailing or calling customer services: 01507 529529 - [email protected]" I would also suggest you read the last 3 editorials in MEW where Neil has advised of the change in ownership, delays to online access and also about contacting subscribers who pay by card etc. You can Access your subscriptions through Pocketmags as normal to do this. 1826 forum posts 1 photos | Thank you John & Jason. I confess to not being very impressed by the handling of this and being digital only plus not paying by DD seems not to have helped.

2610 forum posts 312 photos | Just reporting that the new system for Digital Subscribers to view current and back issues of ME magazine are up and running, I can only think it will be the same for the Workshop mag. Took a few phone calls and a couple of emails to get me viewing again but I found the new staff handling my enquiry were understanding and very helpful. Emgee Edited By Emgee on 09/07/2022 11:23:42 |

462 forum posts 113 photos | I have my subscriber number (for MEW), and can access the digital versions back to 1990 - but I seem to have a gap in the archive between 2010 and 2020. Is this simply a question of waiting until these editions are transferred, or is there some other reason. For me a s a fairly new beginner, the older editions contain some of the more Interesting (basic) material. |

![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | I think the ones upto 2010 were uploaded from a bootleg DVD, the ones after that will take a little longer to convert |

1395 forum posts 30 photos | now that this bootleg DVD has been used maybe the new owners can think of selling maybe 5 years worth at a time of back issues on DVD |

![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | Now that it is possible to download digital issues as PDFs will there be much of a market? DVD is not much use to the ipad user as they have nowhere to stick them but can download and store the pdf and access their files from the cloud and read on any device. |

15 forum posts 2 photos | There is some interesting reading in those early editions, although the scanned quality isn't great. I was looking for the plans for the Toolmakers hammer in the Dec1991/Jan1992 but couldn't find them, has anyone got a copy of the toolmakers hammer plans? There also appears to be an issue or two missing from between the Dec1991/Jan1992 and June/July 1992 and issue 14 also appears to be missing. But it maybe like issue 55 which has been incorrectly labelled, it should be labelled 1/12/98 but is labelled as 1/12/99 I've seen reference to some special editions of MEW also but after looking online I've never seen them for sale, and couldn't find them in the archive either.
I'm assuming the issues between 163 & 291 will eventually be available but will the special editions be made available? |
JasonB | 10/07/2022 07:11:15 |
![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | A lot of the specials were an exclusive deal with WHSmiths so there may be a clause preventing them being added to the Archive. Often containing previous articles you would be able to read in the archive anyway. |

27 forum posts | Forgive me if this is a daft question,I’m absolutely brand new to reading online mags or books and a bit unsure as to how this works.Am I right in thinking if I subscribe to digital only, this will also give access to any back issues online to read also?? That’s how I’ve interpreted this thread? I’m having a bit of bother getting to where I normally get my copy from and wouldn’t mind not having magazines everywhere these days...even though I love to read them rather than a screen! regards,Andy |

![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | Yes a digital subscription will give you access to that mags archive which for ME is back to 2001 and for MEW will be all issues very soon. If you want access to both archives then you need to take out a digital sub to both. |
