Machine tool evolution

![]() 37 forum posts 61 photos | About 7 years ago I bought a clean Myford ML7, used it far more than I expected and even did some milling on it. Next upgrade was replacing my poor quality Ferm drill with a Fobco
Then I increased my milling capacity with a Centec 2A At times I felt a bigger lathe would save time plus being able to skim brake plates/brake drums, so a Harrison M300 was added to the workshop: Which got me thinking a slightly larger Mill would be nice too, so am just awaiting delivery of a Tom Senior Light Vertical I keep browsing grinders and shapers now....where does it stop? |

It does not stop until you stop. I am as bad with motorcycles, suppose that is more likely to stop me |

Thats a nice looking Tom Senior I'm afraid you are fatally attracted to nice machine tools tool candy OCD... Aye, was looking at Deckel, Aciera or Thiel mills then went for the Tom Senior as it will not take up as much space. |

4655 forum posts 304 photos | When we got the Tom Senior at the museum, it was put on 4" high wood and bolted down into the concrete floor. That makes for a nice bed height, about 8" higher than the drill mill which sits next to it. Using the drill mill makes me have to bend slightly to reach the handles on the DM. |
