4 forum posts | Recently joined because of an interest in live steam locomotives and hoping to free up time to indulge, I have also got a 1935 Morris as a second car. An RF engineer by profession, I have done a small amount of work with lathes and mills in the past |

7227 forum posts 21 photos | Welcome! A 1935 Morris should keep you occupied! Whatever your query, someone on here should be able to help. Whereabouts are you located? If you can find a Model Engineering Club near you, my advice would be to join, to meet fellow enthusiasts. No doubt, fellow classic, or should that be vintage? car enthusiasts will beat a path to your door to make bits for them. But, if you have not already met some, beware the chap who brings a total basket case and says "Can you just? Shouldn't take you long" Howard |

7227 forum posts 21 photos | Ah! take out the engine to speed up setting valve clearances! My brother had one; as did my father for a while, in 1947, waiting for his new car to arrive. Both had wire wheels, rather than the pressed steel disc wheels on the later ones. I believe that it needed three spanners, unless you put a plate between adjacent cam followers to prevent then from turning while you actually made and locked the adjustment. At least on the Series E you could access the tappets through a panel in the front whee archl. Didn't stop me dropping a valve collet into the sump! Fortunately, the local dealer had one, so maybe it was not unusual Taught me to block the drain holes with rag! Howard |

My first car was a Morris 8 1938 series 2 with easy clean wheels - as opposed to spoked wheels. Learned to drive in it and had it and eventually sold it for £18 - 10s early 1960’s John |
