449 forum posts 72 photos | Hi all - Anyone know of a UK source of 1/8" diameter shank endmills or slot drills? A search of the internet appears to show availability from China but not from the UK. Sought of thing I am looking for would similiar to the 3-fluted FCC range of cutters commonly availlable with 1/4" or 6mm diameter shanks. |

![]() 2376 forum posts 800 photos | These bits from RENNIE are available with 1/8" shanks. I've been using them in my Dremel with success. Although described as router bits I see no reason why they shouldn't be used for milling. I guess the distinction between routing and milling is largely to do with rotational speed and small bits need high speeds. HTH, Rod |

1186 forum posts 11 photos | What you are looking for is difficult to find in this country. If you can relax one or both of 1/8" and HSS, you may have more success. 3mm shank carbide is the nearest-easily-available over here. One specific size, 1/8" dia. 1/8" shank, is not too difficult to find, but smaller sizes are not at all common. Peatol sell small imperial HSS cutters but they are 3/16" shank. If you have to have what you want, and have any American friends, MSC sell them: https://www.mscdirect.com/browse/tn/Milling/End-Mills/Square-End-Mills?navid=12106240#navid=12106240+4288246840+4288245692 |

429 forum posts 268 photos | Have a look at Jurassic Tools. They have a huge range of 1/8" shank cutters. They are a bit hard to find on the site. Select Milling Cutters from the menu and put them in price order, low to high. Most of the first stuff on the list is 1/8" shank. They are about £3-£4 each. I've got a few of these and they are great on mild steel and brass. I've used them on silver steel as well with light cuts. I've not tried the carbide ones from there though. Steve |

449 forum posts 72 photos | Update - HSS cutters on a 1/8" diameter in Imperial sizes shank seem to be as rare as hen's teeth. No lack of choice of solid carbide alternatives on a 1/8" shank but my set-up is not suitable of running at the higher speeds demanded for use with carbides. However I have found a source of double-ended HSS Imperial cutters on a 3/16" shank available from Chronos which should do the job at the expense of modifying my current cutter holder. Many thanks to those who have made an input. |

![]() 2156 forum posts | Have you asked MSC ? as an American company they do tend to list a lot of imperial stuff. They may have to order in as most of the UK has gone metric. |

![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | I did look at Drill services but could not find anything larger than 1/32" size on 1/8" shanks, same with UK MSC so special order assuming 1/16, 3/32 and 1/8 cutting sizes are wanted all with 1/8" shanks as OP has not actually said what cutting size is wanted. Though Drill services have a good range if you go for carbide though you will have to look for imperial sizes expressed in metric, eg 3.165mm shank and 1.588mm dia for 1/8 x 1/16
