But as usual, we might guess that you need a boiler to raise steam for a model - is that correct? Then there will be questions like 'how big' and 'what pressure', as well as 'have you done anything like this before - ie made something that could blow up in your face and take the shed roof with it?' 143 forum posts 3 photos | Hi Tim yes it is for steam I have several small steam engines ie Stuart beam etc I've made several small steam engines just simple stuff But would now like to make a bioler to run about 60 80 psi vertical about 100mm dia and about 250 high gas heated |

1050 forum posts 56 photos | Longtimes ago ME published a Tubal Cain design and construction series for a 3" vertical boiler. Very simple and satisfying to make with a central flue and 3 water tubes crossing the firebox. My gas-fired example steams at up to 80 psi and runs my Stuart Turner engine nicely. 'Fraid I can't recall the ME issues. |
