Hi everybody. I am an olde retired toolmaker who has washed up in Norfolk after living most of my life in London. I am lucky to live in a quiet little village in a house with a very large garden. I have turned the double garage into a workshop and have a Bridgeport CNC mill, Colchester Bantam and lovely lovely wreck of a spark eroder which I bought as an Ebay bargain. I have been making a live steam scale model of Titanics port triple xxx engine (still not finished after far to long) and am also into making Orrerys.

Welcome to the forum Dereck. Nice size of workshop to have.

That's a nice looking engine.

Hi Derek,

Welcome to the forum, I'd love to see pictures of your orreries.

I'm making a Jovilabe (Jupiter Orrery) but it's been stalled for a couple of years while I work up the courage to make the 10" diameter main wheel in 3mm brass...

Hi Neil. Thank you for your post. I have some of my Orreries on line and you can see them at Orrerydesign.com.

Yes, I think I would need a couple of years to work up the courage to cut a 10" wheel, brass aint cheap!!!!.

Always glad to chat about Orrerys.

Regards Derek
