145 forum posts 29 photos | I am now starting the tender for 3.1/2 gauge County Carlow. The plans specify 18g brass sheet, and the sides are made from 20 inch lengths.
So can anyone suggest a supplier I might try. All my usual sources seem to stop at 12 inch lengths.
Very many thanks

My son is an engraver and uses 600mm x 1200mm engraving brass sheets for solicitors signs and similar. I know he uses 1.5mm or thicker normally, but I think there may be 1.0mm or 0.9mm. PM me if you are interested, I'm on holiday in deepest Dorset at the moment, and won't be in touch with him until the weekend! |

145 forum posts 29 photos | Just to update this post. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Eventually I went with John Keatley metals. (Thanks D A Godley). They were happy to supply a few other small bits of steel I wanted (like 30mm lengths) and prices for the brass were very good. They even saved me £20 Plus VAT on postage by discussing what I was using it for and suggesting an appropriate cut to the Brass. Well recommended, and they even answer the phone!
