Anyone seen these at a good price? I saw them at a place recently and they were about £6.50 each which is about double what I paid last time. I use them all the time but mine are getting smaller and more tatty looking by the week.

Vic, your £6.50 is a better price than I could see when looking on ebay, all £7-00 and above, Proops are offering 3 different fine blocks for £19 inc post if the choice of grades suit your work.

Yes. Great on brass before soldering for example and all sorts of other polishing jobs

They start at £4 (plus VAT) from Farnell

I've used the Kellan ones for years. Mostly to clean copper clad circuit board material.

Postage free if you make the order up to £30 and they sell a wide range of products from tools to consumables as well as electronics. You don't need an account, just a credit card.

It’s a bit odd but Proops list grades not normally offered by Garryson. I may have to get some of those in spite of the price to see what they’re like.

The standard Garryflex blocks are 36, 60, 120 & 240 grit, but they make 320, 400 & 600 grit blocks specially for Proops as I understand it.

Ah thanks for that Mike. Only Proops seem to have them so I did guess it was something like that. I’ll get some to try.

You could also look for York abrasive blocks - same thing but different maker. Cromwell tools have them for £4.40 including VAT. Other suppliers too.
