![]() 121 forum posts 100 photos | Hi, I'm thinking ahead for the types of paint and finishes for my 2 in scale traction engine. Can someone tell me if I should use enamel or polyurethane synthetic on the Boiler and hornplates, and should it be full gloss, semi gloss or satin. Thanks Garry |

![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | Boiler (exposed bits of it) and hornplates are usually done in a heat resistant matt or satin black with possibly the upper part of the hornplates in a colour to match the rest of the engine. |

Jason, quite surprised that the parts you mentioned are not glossy. Is a full gloss just for show case models. Garry did you actually mean to say boiler or are you asking about the cleading sheets which most people tend to do gloss but a satin can look good too.
As said the lower hornplates, throatplate and backhead are usually matt black. BBQ or Stove paint. |
