The Irish Road Racing season is flagged off this coming Tuesday on BBC NI TV - and the net - with the Cookstown 100 at 22-35. Enjoy.

For Dave of the NSU Quickly Thread - tuned examples were raced 'back in the day' when I was a first aider. Well with no personal transport it was a cheap way of getting to the races and often having the best view!

Thanks for the heads up, it's good that the BBC NI are doing the coverage. I always watch the TT races on ITV4, they do some brilliant on-bike footage, usually the day after the race, but this year I think they have plans to do live coverage which will be even better.

I will miss the North West 200 this year but hope to be at Armoy and the Ulster, Greatest racing in the world for me.

I rode at the Tandragee, Temple, Dundrod, Mid Antrim and the Carrowdore in the mid 60s to mid 70s, wonderful times even though in the early days we had no practice , just straight from paddock to grid. Soon twigged to go over a day earlier and try to get a drive round the circuit to get some idea which way to go! Colin
