![]() 257 forum posts 77 photos | Welcome. Just one piece of advice. Before you power up, thoroughly check it for freedom of movement. Do your best to find a copy of the owners manual. Buy a good training manual, if necessary one for any lathe of comparable size. The manual will provide you with generic safety and operation information. My learning curve took about 6 months. ![]() 2110 forum posts 565 photos | Hi Adrian I have an M type lathe like you although i have done a few mods to mine like just pluging the first jole in the bed to prevent small parts disappearing to fitting a quick changed toolpost. It's worth having a look in my photos to see results and ideas.

Good Luck. Hello Bill, I diid go over the lathe with some good quality oil and checked everting was moving as it should be before i turned the motor over.. I did find the back gear would not stay engaged but thats now not a problem after some good use.. |

David HI David, i really like the look of your M type so I'm sure i will be asking you some questions as i can already see a few modifications I would like to make to mine.. That plug is a really good idea and one i will do this weekend.. |

Once you start,there,s no going back,you,re HOOKED !! All that aside,you have a nice little machine and I wish you many happy hours with it. Have fun . PS Make sure to get a big bucket for the swarf,you might be surprised how fast it mounts up ! |
