2 forum posts | Dear friends I need your help because I have lost the key of the chuck on my old lathe Simat 101. It is a crank chuck with 72 mm diameter. I am not able to post a picture of it because I am not expert. So I'd like to know if there is a seller willing to sell this key or someone that has one and give me for money. I canot use the lathe without this item. Please give your suggestions or your help. Thank you Andrea Giovannini Alessandria Italy |

![]() 23121 forum posts 1360 photos | At least I have learned something from this discussion: The geometry troubled me a little, as I have only really considered quite narrow 'contrate' wheels ... a little searching revealed that this might be better be termed a 'Crown Face Gear' and that the geometry can indeed be a little complex: **LINK** http://spiralbevel.com/crown_face [ not that I would really expect the gearing of chuck and key to be made to close tolerance ] MichaelG. |
