I need assistance identifying some collets, these are off a Myford Super 7 but think the chuck is modified for the job.

The collets have what looks to be an S or a 5 with and A overlaid ??

Yes, the image is showing yes

Some dimensions would help though

Body diameter & thread pitch perhaps.

.

'Schaublin SA' seems a likely candidate for the manufacturer, of course.

Multilingual catalogue here: http://www.schaublin.ch/app/webroot/pdf/cat/8.pdf

Well if the 'A' could also be a 'V' (seen from the other side), then it would be Schaublin. Possibly W20?

Regards, Hans

For clarity: SA is part of the company name, rather than a particular collet type

Not much hope without some dimensions

[except to say that it looks 'dead length rather than 'draw-in]

Ian, it looks like a collet from a Marlco indexer used extensively on milling machines in the 1960's and earlier for sure. John

Edit = add image address -- maybe ????

Philip I think they may be Boxford, have a look on www.lathes.co.uk for Boxford lathe accessories and look at the collets, they are a small version of 5C collets -- can't recall the number ??? I had a set some time back from a machine that was scrapped where I worked, always intended to "do something" with them but flogged them on the well known site - had them maybe 50 years in the store !
